Woodstock

The Poster - - August 15-18, 1969
WOODSTOCK, NY - - After a couple of days with lousy weather we landed at a NY State campground near Woodstock.  Yes, THE Woodstock.  45 years ago Woodstock was a hip or hippie place to be.  Bob Dylan and members of The Band lived there.  (Woodstock was "discovered" years ago by the $$$ folks, but it still has a good vibe.)
Back to the festival:  it was planned for Woodstock, but the town wouldn't give the promoter permits to hold it.  They were worried that more than 5,000 would show up....about 395,000 as it turned out.  The promoters luckily found a dairy farm about 50 miles away in White Lake (Bethel).
Over the course of 3.5-days 32 acts performed  to a mass of humanity hungry for Peace & Music as well as all forms of getting high and getting by.  History. Jimi Hendix; The Greatful Dead; Janis Joplin; The Who.
     A three-day ticket cost $18 (or $120 adjusted to 2014 price scale.)
You had to be there.  Unfortunately, or maybe luckily, I wasn't.
