What goes up, must come down

Iceberg Lake sits in a caldera fed by the snow pack around it.

The icebergs break off from the main mass. The pack is not glacial in size, mass or movement.
WEST GLACIER, MT - - We headed back to Swift current campground again on our days off this week.  Unlike last time, when we reached Logan Pass the light was good and the bighorn sheep were out and we also spotted a doe and fawn playing in one of the lakes we visit near the campground. See Lydia's blog (link on this page.) for photos.
In between, we spent most of Saturday on a hike to Iceberg Lake:  5 miles up (not too bad); 5 miles back down (Not too good).  Two hikes with my new boots and I have both big toenails turning black from too much contact with the toe-box front.
How cold was the water?  Not cold enough!  As you can see in the bottom photo, the line between bravado and stupidity is very thin.
